I love container gardening you can plant just about anything in a container. Lavender, rosemary, basil, thyme sage and I always only plant mint in a container. Mint will take over a garden over night if you don't contain it in a container.
This is my favorite type of gardening! The options are endless! You can use all types of material when build raised beds to include wooden barrels, handmade wood beds, pre-made raised beds, and metal troughs. *(metal heats quickly).
This method can be combined with all types of gardening. You can use string, wood grates and even your watering system to create your squares. This method allows for more seeds to be planted in a limited amount of space. See more on our recommended square foot gardening planting guide.
I have a new found love for verticle gardening and a hint...it's not just for cats-claw. The last few seasons I have started growing my squash, zucchini, and eggplants vertical. Also great for indeterminate tomato plants.
This is becoming a more popular way of gardening. It is a much more conservative way of saving water. Most of the pods that you can purchase are made of an organic material that feels like sponge and growing time seems to be faster.
Hanging containers are not just for flowers! You can use these for fruits like strawberries along with herbs, lettuce, spinach, peppers. They even make upside down hanging baskets for your potatoes and strawberries.
